 Gaeta told by its fortified walls

The walls of Gaeta have many stories to tell. The walking tour starts from the so called Porta Carlo III, next to the Main Post Office in Gaeta and ends in the medieval area of the town where the very first defensive walls had been built by the Doges of Gaeta in the 9th century AD.A tour backwards in history following the steps of Emperors and Kings who changed the look of the town.At the end, relaxing time with a tasting of our best street food and a glass of wine! The Angevine Castle

The walking tour starts in the small square Commestibili in the medieval Gaeta proceeding along the ancient steps of the medieval town to the top of the headland where the Angevine Aragonese Castle stands.Visit of the Castle built by the will of the King Charles D'Anjou in the same period of the one in Naples. A fortress which sadly became a famous military prison until 1990 and where two famous nazi criminals were kept after WW2.Stories of castles and prisons, breathtaking view over the Gulf of Gaeta!Tasting of the local tiella.

Monte Orlando walking tour 

Historical and naturalistic walking tour starting from the legendary Split Mountain. The tour proceeds up to the headland with breathtaking views of the cliffs and the story of how the Mountain was turned from a natural defence of the town of Gaeta into a perfect war machine along the centuries. On the top, the Roman Mausoleum of the 1st century bC belonged to Lucius Munatius Plancus.Gorgeous nature and curiousness.
